Finally a reality, NWKLS and Prairie Dog State Park have collaborated to create a Storywalk on the Steve Mathes Walking Trail. The park is located just four miles west of Norton, Kansas on Hwy 36. This Storywalk will run year-round, with new stories each month for visitors and locals to enjoy!
Take a walk and read a book at the same time, what a GREAT idea.
StoryWalk® was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and has developed with the help of Rachel Senechal, Kellogg-Hubbard Library and Nancy Schulz, Vermont Bike & Ped Coalition.
StoryWalks® have been installed in 48 states and five countries, Germany, Cananda, England, Bermuda and Malaysia. They are always received with appreciation.
The project has now reached Kansas and has inspired our Northwest Kansas libraries to conduct their very own community Storywalks. The StoryWalk® Project is an easy, innovative and fun way for families to read and exercise together…For more information on this wonderful project, Click Here.
